1 Thessalonians 5:23 The Message
My approach to holistic nutrition & fitness:
The top four priorities for achieving our best level of fitness are:
- 1. Nutrition
- 2. Sleep
- 3. Exercise
- 4. Stress Management
Each of these areas impacts on our biochemical and hormonal balance. When one of these four areas is out of balance it directly affects the others. One of the most important things we can do for our health is to EAT REAL FOOD. Humans are genetically adapted to eating natural unprocessed food. Our body does not know how to handle the processed food we consume on a daily basis which leads to dysfunction and disease. Our physiologies are beautifully designed and we can get all of the nutrients we need from a proper diet and a little sun.
I take an evidence based approach to nutrition tempered with ancestral wisdom. The best food we can eat is nutrient dense and minimally processed. I believe we were designed to eat quality meats, fish, seafood, eggs, and vegetables, along with some fruits, nuts and seeds. For optimal health we should minimize our intake of toxins like sugar, cereal grains (especially refined wheat flour), and industrial omega-6 oils (such as, soybean oil, corn oil, etc). These food toxins are the main ingredients in most processed food. Excess consumption of these food toxins can lead to an increased risk for modern diseases, such as, diabetes, obesity, heart disease and cancer. I want to teach you how to fuel your body properly to keep it fit for Christ.
